First Against Tthe Wall

It's out way of life that needs liberating!

Have you ever noticed that politicians only seem to use that "in the national interest" thing when it operates to the benefit of their wealthiest constituents, major campaign contributors, or whatever? Like when they want to keep us in the dark about the horrendous cost overrides on some defense project, or who at the Pentagon is getting their palms greased. They've even got an alarming number of people believing that it is "in the national interest" to scrap the Constitution and turn America into a police state. What I want to know is when "in the national interest" is going to stop being synonymous with "special interests," and start working for the people.

Personally, I think it's "in the national interest" for us to control all the oil in the Middle East. I think it's time for our so-called "elected representatives" to quit kissing up to OPEC and take whatever steps are necessary to assure that "We the People" have a limitless supply of cheap oil. I haven't checked lately, but I'm sure that there must be something in the Constitution about the right to cruise around all night in big gas-guzzling V-8s. I'm an American! I like the idea that I'm burning more gas than most third-world countries use in a year every time I stomp it and that second four-barrel kicks in.

Don't give me that "gas prices in Europe" crud, either. Bad example! If Europe were such a great place, none of us would be here. Get a clue! Our ancestors left because they pretty much thought Europe sucked. I have no use whatsoever for the traitorous cruds who use anything European as an example of how Americans should act! Yo, George! LEAD ME to cheap gas, FOLLOW ME to cheap gas, or just GET (OPEC) OUT OF THE WAY so that I can get (back) to the pump with the dirt-cheap, heavily leaded, high-octane stuff!
